The Itabom, together with NGOs Bica de Pedra, promotes the project "Path Alive," which consists of forest roads of access to the city of Itapuí, planting native trees and flowers that make the city more healthy and attractive.

After separating the by-products and fat, Along the NGO Bica de Pedra, the Itabom preserves the springs, streams and rivers that feed the river Tietê. We also contribute with the reforestation of native forests and maintenance of water bodies in the region.

An example of this action is the purchase of 120,000 meters of the margins of the Tietê-Paraná waterway - one of the last fragments of natural vegetation in the municipality, with more than 80 native tree species and endangered species. This fragment, corresponding to 70% of Itapuí vegetation and was donated to the NGO Bica de Pedra for the maintenance and monitoring.

The Itabom promotes with the NGO Bica de Pedra and schools of the city of Itapuí the reforestation, seeking the inclusion of children and adolescents in the city's actions to raise awareness about the importance of preserving the environment.

To enhance these actions are organized lectures in schools of Itapuí, arousing the curiosity and interest of future adults in the city for the protection of ciliary forests, water resources, the reforestation and recyclable garbage, among others.

The partnership with the NGO Bica de Pedra, allowed the planting of more than 35,000 seedlings of native trees in the city of Itapuí and margins in the Tietê-Paraná waterway. This reforestation is coupled with the permanet area of preservation of Itabom.

So necessary as preserve and restore the environment is not to polute ir. Thus, the Itabom invested more than three million reais in processes and equipment for treatment of effluents.


After killing, everything that is not edible food is processed into feed pet through a flour factory. No by-product is thrown away, everything is transformed. Like that the Itabom has a great advantage in production and also avoids the pollution of nature.


In addition to the utilization of by-products, the company handles and clean all water and gases from the processes of slaughter and production of flour.

It has a biological filter for cleaning the gases resulting from the manufacture of pet diets. This process ensures that the gas back to nature without polluting it.

To clean water, Itabom has a Flotador and lakes of processing. The Flotador is a device that separates the fat of water through the action of micro-bubbles. The fat separated from the water is processed into oil that is also used in pet industry.

Water is routed to three Treatment Ponds occupying an area of one hectare. After going through this process, water is returned to municipal sewer, respecting all laws.

The Itabom, together with NGOs Bica de Pedra, has created a working group for children of the city. They have the role of caring for the environment, producing seedlings inside the school and later monitoring the growth of new trees.

The project, in addition to sensitize the child about the importance of preserving the nature, causes information on the environment are disseminated at home, at school and among their friends.
